Hand made by me and the expert team at my workshop in Northumberland. Original, variable and ergonomic designs, band-sawn on the curve from locally-sourced hardwoods (not steamed). Individually drawn-on freehand, scroll-sawn out freehand, sanded in six processes then oiled and labelled. 10 to 12″ long. The ecological and sensual alternative to plastic and metal utensils.
I spent twenty years designing and making non-traditional wooden games, toys and puppets – and selling my ‘Eccentric Productions’ all over the UK and the USA. And I even won the British Toymakers Guild Cup. Then, just before Christmas 2010, one of the off-cuts a cello-maker friend gave me looked like a duck. Thus started The Wooden Spatula Explosion.
